Select Archival Finding Aids Now Online

The select list of finding aids on the Special Collections's website provides a small window on the Seminary Library's many manuscript collections. A full list of finding aids may be retrieved via the Seminary's Library's Online Public Catalog. Online finding aids are now available for a growing number of these collections.

Spring 2008 issue of Luce Library News now available online.

This issue contains articles on the opening of the Wilhelm and Marion Pauck Collection, the acquisition of the library and personal papers of the Very Rev. Dr. Thomas Torrance, and the acqusition of the papers of former professor Bernhard W. Anderson, as well as news about the staff and activities of Special Collections.

T.F. Torrance Collection Donated to Princeton Seminary

The family of the Very Reverend Professor Thomas F. Torrance (1913-2007) has donated his books, personal papers, and manuscripts to the special collections of the Princeton Theological Seminary Libraries. This working library from one of the twentieth century's greatest Reformed theologians represents a major gift to Princeton Seminary.

New Access to PTS Papyri through APIS

Twelve Oxyrhynchus papyri housed in the Special Collections of the Princeton Theological Seminary Library are now included in the APIS (Advanced Papyrological Information System) database hosted by Columbia University. All the available information on the PTS papyri is publicly accessible on APIS. These papyri (which include, inter alia, three LXX fragments, two NT fragments, a fourth-century fragment of Isocrates, and several fascinating documentary papyri) constitute a small but important collection. The APIS records include data from the original published editions of Grenfell and Hunt, handwritten notes by Professors William Park Armstrong and Bruce Manning Metzger, and other notes as well.
