		<item><title>George Davie Prize Essay Competition</title><description>The Center for the Study of Scottish Philosophy is pleased to announce the establishment of the George Davie Prize Essay Competition for a hitherto unpublished essay on a selected theme. Call for applications to participate. </title><description>The seminar will be directed by Paul Guyer (University of Pennsylvania) and Rachel Zuckert (Northwestern University), and will also include guest lectures by James Harris (St. Andrews University), Alexander Broadie (University of Glasgow), and Peter Jones (University of Edinbugh, emeritus).  It will be held at St. Andrews University, Scotland, July 23-August 10, 2007.

Application deadline:  March 1, 2007.  All those interested in aesthetics, the history of aesthetics, eighteenth century Scottish philosophy, the Scottish and German Enlightenments, and (more broadly) the art, literary, philosophical or intellectual history of eighteenth century Europe are encouraged to apply to participate.
