Barth and Kuyper Books

Because of the work that Nicole has done reclassifying some of the Barth Collection, we need to change the workflow for new Barth and Kuyper books. So, after we receive any new Barth or Kuyper books give both copies to Nicole and she will catalog and classify them.

This will not only help with classifying these two special collections, but also help with consistently having the same call number in both the general and special collections.

Whoever receives the Barth and Kuyper books should bring them to Chris after completing the receiving process.

Chris with bring the Main Stacks copy back to Joan. Joan will:
  • Unsupress the Main Stacks holdings
  • Print a label
  • Barcode the book

One exception: If Chris or Nicole have already cataloged and classified the Barth or Kuyper copy, then we can just use the same call number and catalog and process the Main Stack copy.

This new procedure was started on November 8, 2007.

Use the following to create added entries for books older than 1850 that we would ordinarily class as either BARTH or KUYPER

  • 730 0_ Abraham Kuyper collection.
  • 730 0_ Karl Barth collection.

These items should recieve SC numbers and be stored in the rare book stacks.
